Who we're looking for

Toyota's Parts Supply Chain Planning Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Analyst.

The primary responsibility of this role is to generate demand forecasts and manage inventory plans for service parts and accessories. Identify and support improvement efforts of existing best practices (Kaizen) through the effective implementation of Toyota Business Practices and TPS Principles.

Reporting to the SPO, Inventory Planning Manager, the person in this role will support the Inventory Planning and Demand Forecasting short, mid and long-range goals to right size inventory, minimize costs & improve profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction performance goals for our Lexus, Toyota and Private Distributor Dealers around the world.

What you'll be doing

  • Inventory Planning and Demand Forecasting for Service Parts identified for customer consumption throughout North America, including but not limited to:
    • Perform system validations for inbound/outbound forecasting processes. Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems (validation errors) with effective solutions.
    • Generate and analyze performance of planning inputs such as lead times, forecast error, demand variability, and safety stock levels to determine areas not performing to standard.
    • Develop inventory simulation models efficiently and accurately, to provide clear impact analysis on cyclic actions and/or business objectives.
    • Manage Inventory Obsolescence, generate long-term demand requirements and coordinate scrap recommendations.
    • Engage / participate in high visibility, cross functional, or team driven projects, providing inventory planning and demand forecasting expertise, analytical support, strategic solutions or execution recommendations. This includes system enhancements, innovative solutions, Cost Management and Customer Service Improvements
    • Ability to visualize and kaizen complex procedures and information leveraging JKK and TBP tools
    • Regular collaboration with Parts Supply Chain Operations, Advanced Planning, and Service Parts & Accessory Development Groups
    • Manage and prioritize problem solving through OMDS working approach/principles
    • Lead Inventory Planning and Demand Forecasting crisis recovery for abnormal conditions

      What you bring
      • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience
      • Passion and curiosity to discover actionable inventory planning solutions
      • Strong Ability to Mine and analyze supply chain performance data (Enterprise Data Warehouse)
      • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, SAS etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
      • Experience in data visualization and manipulation tools (e.g. Alteryx, Power Bi, Hyperion Brio, Excel, Tableau etc to extract data and develop presentable solutions
      • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
      • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
      • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
      • Experience in leading cross functional projects
      • Excellent writing and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
      • Strong problem solving and visualization skills
      • Methodical & detail-oriented self-starter
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

        Added bonus if you have
        • 3+ Years of Production Control, PSCO Supply Operations or related field
        • Completed JKK and TBP through panel
        • Certified Kaizen/Jishuken Leader
        • Strong understanding of Toyota Enterprise & Data Systems (TPNA, APS, NDW, WMS)
