As a Data Scientist, Data Strategy, you will be pivotal in
transforming data into actionable insights that drive business
strategies and decision-making, making this a unique and exciting
opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from various sources,
using statistical methods and visualization tools to identify
trends and insights.
- Model Development: Develop predictive models using machine
learning algorithms to solve business problems. Select appropriate
modeling techniques based on data characteristics and business
objectives.
- Strategy Support and Development: Help craft data-driven
strategies that align with business objectives, providing insights
to support strategic decision-making.
- Data Quality and Governance: Maintain data accuracy and
reliability, working with governance teams to uphold high-quality
standards and compliance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead conversations with
cross-functional stakeholders to understand data needs, translate
them into analytical solutions, and foster effective
communication.
- Tool and Technology Utilization: Leverage advanced analytics
tools for data analysis and visualization, stay updated on emerging
technologies, and provide training to teams.
- Performance Measurement and Optimization: Develop and track
KPIs, analyze performance data, and suggest improvements to enhance
business outcomes.
- Research and Innovation: Explore new data sources and
techniques, proposing innovative solutions to leverage data for
competitive advantage.
- Legal and Compliance: Ensure adherence to data protection
regulations, identifying risks, and suggesting mitigation
strategies.
- Communication and Problem Solving: Translate complex findings
into actionable insights for stakeholders, using strategic thinking
to address business challenges and opportunities. Your ability to
communicate effectively and solve complex problems will be highly
valued in this role.
- This role requires a balance of strategic data oversight and
technical proficiency to ensure data initiatives are aligned with
business goals and are effectively executed across the
organization.
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant
experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like Statistics,
Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Economics is
preferred.
Critical Skills
- Must have 4+ years of work experience in data analysis,
visualization, and/or supporting healthcare information
systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
for data analysis and modeling.
- Experience with business intelligence platforms like Power BI,
Looker or ThoughtSpot
- Strong knowledge of advanced SQL and relational databases. e.g,
Snowflake.
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Architecture and Databricks
Lakehouse architecture.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries,
such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or Keras.
- Solid understanding of statistical and predictive modeling
techniques.
- Experience in developing and validating predictive models.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable
insights.
- Experience in applying advanced analytics in a business context
to solve complex problems.
- Understanding of business operations and the ability to
translate analytical findings into business strategies.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to
tackle complex analytical challenges.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A proactive approach to staying updated on the latest trends
and advancements in data analytics and machine learning.

- Must have the ability to travel up to 10% of the time

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay
philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable
regulations. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as
an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be

Our Base Pay Range for this position
$109,900 - $183,100
