Job Description:

Position Summary

This position will work at an automotive OEM customer site as a resident engineer to develop automotive infotainment systems. Work directly with the OEM customer, design teams, and suppliers to define requirements, design and implement software and hardware for infotainment products.

Roles and Responsibilities

Establish and support clear engineering communication between the customer, home organization, and suppliers.
Serve as contact to customer engineering.
Attend and/or coordinate various design reviews and program meetings.
Make presentations, take notes, and write meeting minutes as needed.
Engage in system requirement and specification definition with customer and other relevant development partners.
Crate and modify specifications and ensure specifications are being met.
Create and maintain component validation test plans and review them with the customer.
Document and communicate part failures to the customer.
Support and engage in test plan and test case development with the customer and other relevant development partners.
Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of failures during system/component testing and system integration phases.
Support the customer's systems and vehicle level validation.
Support production launches, root cause build issues, and implement solutions.
Report to product engineering lead on regular basis.

Required Qualifications

Japanese/English Bilingual
3+ years of experience working for an automotive Tier-1 supplier or OEM
3+ years of experience in Vehicle Electronics Development.
Experience with development models (Agile, SDLC, Open source, others)
Knowledge of following in-vehicle technology platform (Bluetooth, BLE, Wifi, MOST, or CAN)
Ability to conduct root cause analysis, triage, and document
MS office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)
Strong communication skills
BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
