Purpose of JobWe are seeking a talented Junior level Software Engineer. This position will be Hybrid from our regional office in Plano, TX.

Summary
Provides support to the Enterprise and has an opportunity to significantly impact organizational growth and effectiveness through delivering best in class technology solutions. Engaged in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle which includes gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting and implementing software, responding to outages. Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensure these risks are effectively identified and escalated to be measured, monitored and controlled.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field of studyORCertification from an approved technical field of study,OR4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum requiredMinimum Experience:
    • 2+ years of software development experience specific to a discipline/technology
    • 1+ year(s) of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle
    • Basic understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL
    • Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting applications and systems within production issues
    • Ability to quickly understand applicable business acumen to provide appropriate Engineering solutions
    • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutionsPreferred Experience:
      • 1+ year(s) of experience working in REACT/REDUX
      • Prior development experience in Spring Boot
      • 1+ year(s) of Java programming experience
      • 1+ years in AGILE methodology (Scrum, Lean, SAFe, etc.)Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position.
