Our location in Plano, TX currently has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with marketing and/or product management to develop design input requirements from user and business needs. Lead the generation of the system design input requirements.
  • Provide critical input to the systems architecture and own the systems integration and design change control process. Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to other team members from a wide range of functions and/or geographical locations.
  • Ensure tracing between user and business needs, and the design input requirements. - Make sure design input requirements include safety risk management requirements, and human factors.
  • Evaluate/analyze requirements for coherence and completeness and clarifies ambiguous requirements.
  • Lead systems engineering technical support for all national/international regulatory submissions, market expansion and gross margin improvement.
  • Negotiate resolution of problem areas with marketing/product management and the other members of the team.
  • Coach other team members in methods for developing good product definitions. Recommend the system architecture for a set of products indented to perform a protocol or function.
  • Model systems behavior to drive architectural decisions and requirement definition and refinement. Drives the decomposition of design input requirements into detailed subsystem requirements.
  • Provide links between design inputs, architectural components and subsystem requirements, to ensure design meets expectations.
  • Develop a documentation tree to support the systems architecture. Plan, manage, and report on overall systems integration.
  • Generate the systems integration plan and report. Coordinate system engineering testing to verify systems functionality.
  • Drive and record configuration of system at integration points. Own system design change control process. Support system verification execution.
  • Identify and escalate risks in terms on systems viability with existing requirements. Identify and escalates issues with operation and use of systems engineering tools.
  • Provide recommendations to the management on systems engineering issues.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, platform architects and other leaders to drive work to completion and resolve issues. Successfully influence stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management. Keep leadership informed of progress and issues.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING -REQUIRED -
    • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5+ years of experience in developing highly engineered products.
    • Systems engineering experience spanning the entire product lifecycle, including proficient use of systems engineering tools (e.g. requirements management, change control, etc.).
    • 3+ years Systems engineering experience in a highly regulated industry
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
    • Experience working in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
    • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
    • Ability to travel by car and by plane PREFERRED -
      • Master's Degree in Engineering (Systems, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering), or related discipline.
      • 3 years experience with medical/diagnostics products.
      • Medical device experience, specifically supporting neuromodulation, radio frequency ablation and/or other low power implantable devices and experience with biologic sensors (flow, pressure, EKG, etc)
      • Use and administration of DOORS a plus.
