For Victorian based employees, the compliance date is 26 November 2021.All other global Boeing locations do not have a vaccination requirement at this time.The Boeing Research & Technology organization is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer based out of Long Beach, California, El Segundo, California, Mesa, Arizona, Plano, Texas, or Hazelwood, Missouri. This candidate will possess strong systems engineering skills necessary to execute and drive the development of system engineering life cycle products for complex avionics hardware such as computers and switches. Qualified individuals will need to have strong communication skills and the ability to implement an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to assure a balanced system design.This assignment provides a unique opportunity to participate in the complete development life cycle of an avionics product from receipt of requirements through qualification/certification and fielding.Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with airplane level subsystem engineers and component level hardware and software engineers to develop component level hardware and software level requirements
  • Leads and/or participates in functional and architecture trade studies
  • Works closely with specialty engineering such as safety and reliability and certification authorities to assure the design solution meets safety, reliability and certification requirementsThis position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • Experience with avionics systems
      • Experience with FAA certification of electronic systems
      • Experience with model based systems engineering tools (MBSE)Typical Education/Experience:- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
