Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications is responsible for the development, execution, and assessment of Reata's internal and external communication strategy and assisting with investor relations. This includes developing communications and messaging strategies, executing public and media relations programs, monitoring publicity, managing internal communications programs and content, formulating, and implementing plans. This position regularly provides strategic counsel on communications matters to business and functional leaders throughout the enterprise and collaborates closely with other stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging, strategy, and execution with employees and in the market.


  • Identifies and develops company news and information, develop contents and/or output, secures all necessary approvals, for channels including, but not limited to:
  • Announcements
  • Speeches
  • Presentations, technical articles, conference papers
  • Investor-facing material
  • Oversees all corporate social media activities for Reata including planning and creating content
  • Develops communications that support pipeline communications strategy and activities
  • Assists with Reata's Investor Relations activities
  • Drafts corporate PRs
  • Assist in responding to investor inquiries
  • Schedules meetings and calls with investors
  • Manages investor conference schedules
  • Maintains list of investor meetings and contact information
  • Manages investor CRM and distribution of investor materials
  • Fosters media and influencer relationships, identifies, and secures editorial opportunities that support the global communications plan
  • Monitors all media channels, measure and report company publicity and adjust media strategies accordingly
  • Plan, develop and manage internal communications channels including the company's Intranet and other internal communications tactics to drive employee engagement, satisfaction, and productivity
  • Assist department head as a key media contact; builds and maintains relationships with media
  • Acts as business owner for Reata's internal and external websites, with responsibility for content, architecture, and design
  • Assists department head to plan, direct, coordinate, budget for, and evaluate the impact of all corporate communications
  • Assist in planning and organizing media activities at major medical congress
  • Prepare management for interviews with media and other key corporate communications interactions
  • In partnership with Human Resources, develops effective employee communications plans that strengthen recruitment, employee value proposition, engagement, and support to advance our thriving culture
  • Works collaboratively across a variety of functions to support communications goals and ensure alignment with Reata's overall strategy


  • Comply with applicable regulations, GCP and corporate policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate commitment and support for company goals, objectives and procedures
  • Represent Reata by developing collaborative relationships with site personnel, colleagues and vendors
  • Generates enthusiasm among team members
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to serve in leadership roles
  • Manages the process of innovative change
  • Assist the company and department by understanding the goals of the organization and
  • Aligns activities to move towards those goals in a timely and efficient manner


  • Up to four years of professional experience in corporate communications, and social media management in the biopharmaceutical or health care industry
  • Experience in Investor Relations in the biopharmaceutical or health care industry a plus
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in a related field, such as English, communications, or life sciences
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail
  • Self-starter, detailed-oriented individual with proven track record implementing social media campaigns, working on global initiatives, and working in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to jump into a fast-moving environment and absorb information quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills, personal organization, and integrity
  • Ability to communicate technical information for understanding across variety of audiences
  • Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines and changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information and use excellent judgment on a variety of sensitive
