Manager Patient Relations

Medical City Plano

Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and managing all functions of the Guest Services and Volunteer departments in order to meet the stated mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano. It is expected that the Manager will effectively operate the department, continue the improvement of the department's processes and outcomes, comply with hospital and corporate policy and procedures, efficiently manage finances and resources, promote teamwork and customer satisfaction, and integrate the department services into the organization's overall plan for the delivery of care and service.

  • Promotes positive relations between patients, families, physicians, staff and the hospital by facilitating programs, processes and actions the organization may take to better serve our patients.
  • Serves as a liaison between patients and hospital employees and physicians
  • Assists with patient experience improvement programs through rounding and assisting with audits and validation exercises
  • Provides educational activities for improved patient experience
  • Develop performance improvement activities related to patient experience and service excellence
  • Manage the volunteer program, including the interview and selection process, conducting new volunteer orientation, annual training and maintenance of volunteer job descriptions and competencies
  • Conduct service excellence orientation for new employees and volunteers
  • Serves as a member of the Service Excellence Committee
  • Serves as the Equity Compliance Coordinator for ADA compliance

Medical City Plano is a full-service, 513-bed acute-care facility with more than 2,070 employees and over 1,466 physicians on staff, representing over 70 specialties and sub-specialties. Our main campus in the heart of Plano includes the main hospital and medical offices, an outpatient surgery center, a comprehensive cancer-treatment center, an emergency and Level 1 trauma center, a radiology/imaging center, a comprehensive cardiovascular program, the Center for Lifestyle Enhancement, The Bariatric Institute, Wound Care Center and complete women's and children's services including a high-risk antepartum unit and a Level 3 neonatal intensive-care unit.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree required or in process of obtaining

Experience: Minimum 5 years healthcare management & customer relations experience or comparable leadership background.

Special Skills & Qualifications: Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing.
