Job Description:

The Applications Engineer role is responsible for configuration and support of Workday Applications that includes developing solutions/enhancements, design, configuration, and maintenance of our Financial modules. This position will serve as the lead for Workday Financials configuration and plays a pivotal role in enabling processes, design and solutions that drive efficiency, reduce the cost of operations, and mitigate operational risk. Additional responsibilities would include development of reports, data loads, data audits, compliance, production support. This role is technical in nature and requires Workday product knowledge as well as hands-on implementation and post-production support experience. This role will work closely with other peer IT team members and Business partners to design and configure solutions to meet Business needs. 1. Design, Configuration, and Deployment Serve as a Workday power-user, building upon and maintaining professional relationships with key colleagues & vendors to ensure that the services and solutions provided exceed current and future needs. Work closely with the Workday Financials Analyst to understand business requirements, create proofs of concept, build stable configuration, perform testing, and deploy solutions Subject Matter expert on Financials functionality and Financial Reporting Build/Configure well-designed solutions that solve Business needs, and meet the IT design principles and standards Consult / collaborate with other technical leads on design decisions and interface impacts Stay informed of new functionality available in Workday and recommend improvements / adoption Analyze the current benefits setup and present recommendations to optimize Leverage business knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities for process improvement Proactively research and implement courses of action to prevent system/security problems and maintain compliance 2. Maintenance/Support Provide production support for Workday including, but not limited to researching and resolving problems, unexpected results and/or process flaws, perform scheduled activities, recommended solutions or alternate methods to meet requirement Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Workday business process configurations, dashboards, worklets, and advanced reports Participate in Workday major releases, identifying impact / enhancement opportunities associated with a new release features/functionality Support regression testing and communication of required changes as new Workday releases are introduced Collaborate with IT peers and business partners to ensure a consistent focus on production support, service requests, and roadmap initiatives to ensure a balanced delivery of service and solutions aligned with business objectives 3. Quality Assurance Unit Testing of configuration Testing of configuration built by peers Regression testing of Workday Releases Design and Configuration reviews of more complex solutions 4. Documentation Maintain proper change management documentation, requirements and testing documentation 5. Advanced knowledge of Workday Financials and Financial Reporting Knowledge of Adaptive will be a plus Strong knowledge of Workday configuration and business processes Experience in developing advanced and complex Workday reports Solid understanding of Financial impacts to HCM, Payroll, Integration systems and Security Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and leadership Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle both planned and unplanned responsibilities Excellent time-management and prioritization skills Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Ability to operate and have availability during non-standard business hours and weekends, if needed Exhibits dedication and thoroughness while still meeting deadlines Ability to manage and maintain effective working relationships with vendors Attention to detail and accuracy QUALIFICATIONS: 4 year degree Computer Science/ Information Systems Minimum six (6) years of IT / or direct business experience managing technical projects Minimum three (3) years of hand on experience on Workday Financials Workday certification will be considered a plus DISCLAIMERS: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by crewmembers within this classification.
