The Organizational Effectiveness (OE) Advisor collaborates with business partners to assess effective work processes and practices and makes recommendations for improvement. This role is responsible for strategic workforce plans, organizational design projects and reporting and analytics to ensure that FedEx Office leverages human capital to meet the needs of the business strategy. This role executes organizational effectiveness initiatives that may include headcount management and monitoring of trends, workflow mapping, strategic planning, change management, communication, Organizational Effectiveness Executive Review, efficiency analysis and performance consulting. The role supports all internal customers including Sales, Operations, and our Corporate Office and works with other FedEx Operating Companies to ensure consistent practices and prepare report OE measures for Board of Directors.

  • Diagnose and analyze current organizational systems, structures, culture, competencies, and related organizational practices to identify gaps between actual and desired states and recommend solutions for change
  • Conduct research to determine industry benchmarks and best practices. Identifies potential areas for improvement.
  • Consult with organizational leaders and managers to aid in strategy/goal achievement and recommend proper interventions such as process/system/function redesign, training, etc. and implement recommendations/proposals as appropriate.
  • Create and maintains Headcount Management Process and regularly reports monitors on trends
  • Synthesize data from various sources in order to recommend solutions for the organization and teams
  • Design and track metrics to determine the effectiveness of initiatives
  • Evaluate organizational effectiveness programs and/or core practices by designing various follow-up and feedback mechanism to assess program/practice effectiveness and determine any necessary changes or revisions
  • Create FedEx Office strategic workforce plan to anticipate and forecast future human capital needs.
  • Work with Leadership Readiness and Talent Acquisition teams to build skill capacity
  • Create and design programs from start to finish including project planning, gaining executive buy-in, budgeting, program design, communication, timelines, and execution of project
  • Consult with Human Resources on org design and workforce management initiatives
  • Participate on cross operating company teams to support enterprise initiatives, such as Organizational Effectiveness Executive Review
  • Consults on business agility practices and interventions using both internal (e.g. QDM) and external (e.g. design thinking, Agile) methods


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years' experience in the area of organization development, organization design, Agile projects and strategic workforce planning
  • Ability to communicate with business executives both oral and written, strong presentation skills, interpersonal skills, conflict management
  • Results oriented and proficient in project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience with synthesizing data, performing data analysis and creating automated reports and dashboards to drive decision making (e.g. Microsoft PowerBI, Alteryx, Spotfire)
  • Knowledge of headcount planning, forecasting and resource management trends and tools (productivity analysis a plus)
  • Extremely client focused to include ability to work across multiple disciplines, e.g. operations, sales, manufacturing, transportation, corporate, other FedEx operating companies
  • Experience in facilitation of business meetings and problem-solving
  • Strong research, design and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word
  • Experience working with technology applications including talent management systems (Workday preferred)
  • Experience in assessments, coaching, job analysis, supply/demand modeling preferred
  • For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring
  • For current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook


  • Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods as applicable
  • Ability to move and lift 55 pounds
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees
  • Ability to travel as required in order to meet with customers, vendors, other team members, and/or other business necessities

  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the FedEx Office business; regular attendance and/or reporting could include regular attendance at a physical location and/or maintaining established business hours depending on the scope and nature of the position
