Registered Nurse Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY: In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the
Nursing Supervisor supports the management of a defined patient
care area to provide a climate optimal for the provision of
individualized, goal directed nursing care that supports the
mission, vision, values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of
the Nursing Department and promotes, advocates for and supports the
nursing staff's primary commitment to protect the health, safety,
and rights of the individual, family or community. The Nursing
Supervisor is accountable for their practice and care coordination.
The Nursing Supervisor is expected to practice autonomously
utilizing evidence based practices.
Our Progressive Care Registered Nurses raise the bar by
providing clinical expertise and the highest quality care, in the
most compassionate way. Our 35-bed ICU Stepdown unit provides
healing to general intermediate care patients needing a higher
level of skilled nursing care than on a Medical Surgical floor, but
do not need an intensive level of care in the ICU. Our patient
population includes post sheath removal, stroke, spine, peritoneal
dialysis, cardiac drips and much more receiving care from our

Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing, BSN required.
Nursing Supervisors hired after July 1, 2011 must have a BSN. MSN
Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted, National
Specialty Certification in practice area or plan to achieve within
one year of hire.
