Manager (Application Development) - Backend Processing

Summary:

This role is responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness of Global Payments back-end processing software. This role will focus on planning and directing the work efforts of the Software Developers and Quality Assurance Analysts a team . This role will ensure deliverability, new functionality, production support bug fixes, and architectural enhancements on the backend processing platform. Job Details:

Responsible for growing the team, ensuring collaboration across multiple disciplines and providing support to individuals through your mentorship and leadership skills

Directly manage a team of software developers and QA analysts by perform all people management duties for the Backend Processing Application Development team

Contribute to the technical vision and architectural roadmap for the backend processing platform. Serve as a Solution Architect on project initiatives by collaborating with other technical leaders to construct holistic and cohesive solutions

Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across the organization. Partner closely with product managers, technical leads, and business leads to establish the application team's vision and roadmap by understanding the needs of the business

Ensure that the delivery teams have appropriate development tools and environments to facilitate delivery. Champion and guide your team to adhere to the company’s SDLC and change management release process

Be a good steward to the Operations team by maintaining team coverage for on-call second tier support duties on a rotating basis

Assist in improving delivery and operational efficiencies by streamlining and automating processes ?

Other Duties:

Ensure that the Backend Processing Delivery team is appropriately trained to perform all Exchange Clearing, Passport, and Reconciliation development and support duties

Work with the Operations Manager and Backend Processing Leadership to assist with issue management for all incidents related to backend processing

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science - Computer Science, Application Development

8 + years of experience in a Sr/Lead Software Development or similar role in an IT environment with merchant acquiring bankcard experience

2+ years of experience in a Scrum/Agile work environment

10+ years of industry experience (C# and SQL) ; extensive experience designing, building, and operating complex systems with a variety of technologies

Demonstrated ability in working with and understanding of all aspects of the bankcard industry including acquisition, clearing, settlement, funding, risk management, and interchange

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentoring engineering teams to raise technical standards and achieve business goals

Understanding and interest in creating highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant systems

Preferred:

Excellent interpersonal skills that enable effective communication and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders

Demonstrated technical initiative and leadership on previous projects

RabbitMQ experience

Microsoft Team Foundation Server experience

TeamCity / Octopus Deploy experience

LogicMonitor experience

Rally experience

Payment card industry experience

Azure cloud experience
