As a Principal Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you provide expertise and engineering excellence as an integral part of an agile team to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Leverage your advanced technical capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes across various technologies to support one or more of the firm's portfolios.
Job responsibilities



  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks


  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others


  • Close engagement with Architects and Design Authority across other areas of Consumer and Community Banking


  • Advises cross-functional teams on technological matters within your domain of expertise


  • Participate in dev modernization and adoption of emerging/modern technologies across the application suite


  • Continuous improvement of our DevOps, tooling and processes to enable us to deliver more value


  • Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams


    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


    • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 7+ years applied experience


    • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability


    • Expert in one or more programming language(s) in the Java stack (Core & EE, SpringBoot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud)


    • Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)


    • Deep experience with UI/UX (React JS, Angular or equivalent)


    • Adept in SCM / DevOps / CI/CD tools & process (GIT/Bitbucket, Maven, Ant, Jenkins, Sonar)


    • Hands-on experience with Big Data / NoSQL (Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB, Pig/Hive)


      Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


      • Experience with MicroServices & Layered (SOA/MVC) Architecture


      • Experience with Integration patterns and messaging technologies (JMS, Mule, Kafka, RabbitMQ)


      • Experience with deployment of Cloud Platforms, Container/Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry)


      • Experience with Open Source and Cloud Technologies such as Apache Storm / Ignite, ELK, Dynatrace, Grafana
