As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. By joining the Sensitive Data detection team you'll have the opportunity to work in a fast paced environment with an application that is critical to keeping Capital One's data secure; while having fun with like minded and passionate technologists. In this role you will be solving for a critical regulatory need for Capital One by using cloud technologies at its best. You will be designing and building products that can scan the entirety of the data landscape and are capable of alerting the data producers when sensitive data is present in the cloud. Whether it is detecting sensitive data; providing a consumer experience to remediate them or to incorporate new evolving regulatory needs in this product you will do it all. What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community
• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
• Evaluate vendor products and support adoption of these products within the Capital One Ecosystem Capital One is open to hiring a remote employee for this position.Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply) Preferred Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
    • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
    • 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks

Location is New York City: $161,900 - $184,800 for Senior Software EngineerLocation is San Francisco, California: $171,500 - $195,800 for Senior Software EngineerRemote roles in other areas of New York & California, and across Colorado & Washington: $137,200 - $156,600 for Senior Software Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
