About L3Harris Intelligence, Surveillance, And Reconnaissance (ISR)
Sector
The ISR Sector is one the business units within the Integrated
Mission Systems (IMS) Segment. The ISR Sector is focused primarily
on the design, modification, fielding and enduring support of both
tactical and strategic Intelligence, Surveillance and
Reconnaissance aircraft for US and international customers. The ISR
Sector is headquartered in Plano, TX, and has additional operating
locations in Greenville, Waco, and Rockwall, Texas, as well as
Tulsa and Nashville.
Job Description:
The Software Engineer 4 will work within an Agile SCRUM Team of
approximately 10 software engineers to develop, maintain, test, and
integrate software in lab and target environments.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering
organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware
and software, and operational performance requirements and design
of the overall system
- Support and participate in all phases of the software
development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design,
implementation, integration, and test
- Will investigate and resolve defects
- Research new software concepts
- Work with system engineers to implement and demonstrate new
capabilities
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
concepts and principles in the development of software for the
target application
- Develop software test procedures, software programs, and
related documentation
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant
experience
- OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant
experience
- The following may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree:
- Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience
- High School Diploma with 14 years of relevant experience
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD
Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Secret Clearance
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or
related field
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Broad knowledge of project management
- Ability to write well-designed, testable, efficient code
- Ability to ensure design is in compliance with
specifications
- Ability to prepare and produce releases of software
components
- Ability to support continuous improvements by investigating
alternatives and technologies and presenting these for review
- Ability to oversee and mentor junior engineers
- Ability to support continuous improvement by investigating
alternatives and technologies and presenting these for
architectural review
- Software development experience with most of the following
programming languages: C++, Java, Python, JavaScript
- Multi-threaded development experience with Java, C/C++
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design
patterns
- Software development experience in the Linux environment
Comfortable with shell scripting, Redhat/Centos image
customization
- Project, Build, Package Management Experience:
- Version Control: Git (perferred), SVN, or other
- Artifact Repositories: Maven, NPM, Artifactory
- Containerization technology: Kubernetes, Docker
- Network socket programming
- Experience with DevOps, user interface design, database
structures, and statistical analyses
- Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting scope
- Ability to be self-directed and work in a team environment
