Summary: Responsible for contributing to the mission and vision of the Company and Department as a Human Resources Generalist. Provides quality initial support services to all Company employees with a high degree of customer satisfaction, expertise and timeliness. This includes evaluating and analyzing the employee request/concern, quickly interpreting the situation, determining the appropriate resolution and/or escalation, and communication the resolution and escalation to the customer, consistent with our mission and visionEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides initial support and additional follow-up to Company employees for all HR related inquiries. Support areas including, but not limited to: Benefits, Recruitment, Compensation, HRIS, Worker's Compensation, Training, etc.Responsible for onboarding new hires by coordinating, processing new hire paperwork and entering employment data into HRIS system.Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains current documentation in employee files.Responsible for processing Verification of Employment (VOE).Respond in a timely manner to all emails and voice mail messages requiring action.Responsible for managing the central email communication tool for the HR departmentMaintains and conducts routine audits of Employee Files. Maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources information system software.Maintain the confidentiality of all activity, including the verbal and written communication, of any department matters.Interprets and explain human resources policies and procedures to employees.Process development assistance as needed.Provides excellent customer service to employees while maintaining confidentialityActs as the customer advocate for HR by representing the services in a positive manner, proactively escalates issues on the customer's behalf to ensure the timeliest serviceFiles papers and documents into appropriate employee files as neededRegular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work variable schedule(s) as necessaryAssists Director of HR & HR Managers and others on the HR Team with various research projects and/or special projects. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assignedMust conduct self in an ethical, legal, and responsible manner at all times.Must adhere to the policies, principles, and guidance within the Employee Handbook and Code of Business Conduct.Competency:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Strong verbal & written communication skillsAbility to build strong relationships with a diverse populationAbility to solve practical problems and manage a variety of variables in situations and with problems where only limited information or standardization existsAbility to read, write, speak and comprehend in English: instructions, correspondence, memos and reportsAbility to work in a fast-paced, productive work environmentMust be a self-starter, independent, and strong organization skillsEducation/Experience:Bachelor's degree preferred; preferably with Human Resources or Business Administration or the equivalent work experienceMinimum 1-2 years of general Human Resources experience requiredComputer Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc)Experience utilizing Human Resource Information SystemsBasic Internet navigation skillsCertificates and Licenses: N/ASupervisory Responsibilities: N/AWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
