Job Description Faculty position employed by the University of
Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East
Texas facilities. UT Tyler School of Medicine - The Department of
Surgery is currently recruiting for a faculty member who practices
colorectal surgery. The applicant must be Board-Certified or
eligible in General Surgery, have completed a colon and rectal
surgery fellowship by the time of the appointment, and be eligible
for a Texas Medical License. Requirements: - All aspects of
providing Colorectal Surgical procedures at a high-functioning
Level 1 Trauma Center - Academic affiliation with UT Tyler School
of Medicine, including Medical Education, including Residents and
Surgical Fellows - MD or DO degree required. - Applicant must be
Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery and must have completed
a colon and rectal surgery fellowship by the time of the
appointment and be eligible for a Texas Medical License -
Successful candidates will be committed to patient care, resident,
fellow and medical student education and scholarly activity that
advance clinical medicine - Educational responsibilities include
the clinical training of general surgery residents and colorectal
surgery fellows - Experience in laparoscopic or robotic surgery is

Medicine: The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is
the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The
University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future
healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique
needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations,

Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and

education program expansion throughout the UT Health East Texas
Health System. The building is scheduled for completion in fall of
2025. Emphasizing a community-centered approach, the UT Tyler
School of Medicine combines advanced research, hands-on learning,
and partnerships with regional healthcare providers to cultivate a
new generation of physicians prepared to improve healthcare
