Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Orthopedic Job Details: • Work on A4 orthopedic trauma specialty medical-surgical unit with 36 beds • Patient ratios 1:5, may flex to 1:6 • Must arrive by 6:45 AM/6:45 PM for huddle (considered tardy by hospital policy at 6:53 AM/6:53 PM) • Four weekend commitment required • Float to all medical-surgical units as needed • Work with telemetry equipment and Meditech EMR system • Care for polytrauma patients, non-surgical cervical fractures, trauma patients with downgraded TBI • Manage patients with no more than 3 drains and burn downgrades • Administer Heparin and Protonix drips • Work with day shift staffing of 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and 3 CNAs • Work with night shift staffing of 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and 3 CNAs • Required: 1 year medical-surgical experience, ACLS, BLS certifications • Preferred: Orthopedic and/or trauma patient experience • Dress code requires royal blue scrubs • Must be a team player Facility: This healthcare facility is a comprehensive medical center that provides specialized orthopedic and trauma care services.
