Shift: 7A-7P, 7P-7A Unit does self-scheduling

Job Responsibilities:

• Applying the standards set forth for nursing practice by the American Nurses Association (ANA).
• The Ortho Trauma PCU RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document, and maintain the plan of care for a unique population of patients.
• Plan, implement, revise and delegate nursing care.
• Perform necessary technical skills as delineated through education, expertise, and unit requirements.
• Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
• On this fast-paced and challenging 37-bed step down unit, you will provide care to adult patients undergoing elective procedures such as total joint replacement, bone, and soft tissue tumor resections as well as patients with various fractures, amputations, degloving's, and injuries from traumatic events such as car accidents and gunshots. Education, License & Certifications:
  • BSN required
  • Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted
  • Current BLS/ACLS issued by the American Heart Association require
  • Must have at least one (1) year of RECENT Medical Surgical or Intermediate Care RN experience in an acute care hospital
  • Ortho or Trauma experience is PREFERRED Additional Information:
    • Nurse to patient ratio- 1:4/5
    • Beds per unit- 37
    • Reports to the unit manager
    • Differential: Nights - $3.75
    • Weekend $4.20 per hour
    • Sign On Bonus: UPTO a $7,500 - 2yr commitment
    • Relocation: $3,000 - 2yr commitment
    • (Candidates who are hired for the cross-training program (ie Med Surg RNs going to a PCU like Ortho Trauma) are not eligible for a sign on bonus. Those are only for nurses with at least 1 year of current experience in the clinical area. However, we may be able to get approval for the $3k relocation.) Thanks & Regards
