RN - Wound Care WOCNAbout the Job
Coordinates, manages, and evaluates the care of children with
wounds, ostomies, and/or continence issues from admission through
the discharge to facilitate quality, cost-effective patient/family
care. Promotes collaboration among the health care team to provide
developmentally appropriate care, referrals, and discharge planning
for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues.
Location: Plano, TX
Shift: Part-time: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 830-1700.
Responsibilities
* Promotes quality and specialty care to ambulatory and
hospitalized patients and families
Optimizes clinical and program efficiency through performance
improvement initiatives
* Initiates the development of professional and educational
activities
* Identifies factors that influence clinical and financial outcomes
as related to specialty population
* Contact with case management to facilitate communication with
community agencies, facilities, and vendors to provide appropriate
patient referrals, assistance with supplies and follow up as
appropriate for the WOC patient
Qualifications
Experience: 3 years' RN experience in acute care required, 1 year
nursing experience in wound, ostomy and continence preferred
Education: BSN, graduation from an accredited Wound, Ostomy &
Continence Nursing program preferred
License: TX RN License
Certification: BLS & WOCN certifications required before
starting
