Texas Health Plano seeks to hire a Lead Ultrasonographer to work
Full Time.

Salary range is Min. $34.92/hr to Max. $52.51/hr - based on
relevant experience
Hours/ScheduleFull Time (35/hr/wk) working Monday-Friday
6:30a-2:00p call and holiday rotaiton required (must be with in 30
minutes of the hospital for call)Team Leader
Responsibilities:Oversee daily operations of all assigned
areasMonitor, manage, and approve staffing levelsProvide leadership
to employees of assigned areasParticipate in employee evaluations
and coaching/counseling sessions of assigned areasEnsure patient
satisfaction of assigned areasCoordinate with other departments
when services are requested of assigned areasCommunicate department
initiatives and performance of assigned areasWorks closely with
physicians and other stakeholders requesting services of assigned
areasParticipate in department budgeting process and supply
orderingParticipate in equipment evaluation and oversee training of
new equipmentParticipate in hospital and department committeesWork
closely with department managerAny additional duties as assigned by
department managerImaging Procedures, Quality and
ProcessingExplains procedures to patient or guardian / family
member if applicable prior to examPositions patient to correct
anatomical area of interestPerforms complex procedures including
age related criteria and developmental considerationsAdjusts
technique parameters appropriately for age related factorsAssists
radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic
techniqueMaintains attention to detailsProcesses and manipulates
images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique
adjustments or repeat procedures as neededUtilizes proper downtime
procedures for HIS / RISCorrectly sends and transfers images to
laser camera and Tele-Radiology system from modalityPrints laser
images from modalityCoordinates with Centralized Scheduling and
other modalitiesPatient CarePrepares room for examination (i.e.
suction, oxygen, supplies).Checks physician orders and exam
requisitions using time-out procedures.Greets and acknowledges
patient, using two forms of ID.Obtains patient history.Handles
patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and
monitor patient during imaging.Demonstrates knowledge of emergency
drugs and equipment.Uses proper body mechanics when assisting
patient.Processes patient information, displays proper phone
etiquette and transports patients as needed.Equipment Operation and
MaintenanceAdjusts technical parameters to optimize image.Operates,
cares for and maintains equipment.Applies proper knowledge of
instrumentation, probe selection and cognitive sonographic
skills.Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment
malfunction.Maintains equipment and room to sanitary
standards.Adheres to hospital standards for infection control for
patient, equipment, and self.Stocks/maintains supplies and
linen.Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality
control and regulatory standards.Professional Accountability and
PartnershipMaintains ARDMS, CME credits and CPR yearly or when
applicable (ARRT and CMRT if applicable).Attends departmental
continuing education, meetings, and checks email
routinely.Identifies, troubleshoots and initiates quality
improvement.Manages time and re-prioritizes as necessary.Performs
any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor
Qualifications - External
EducationH.S. Diploma or Equivalent RequiredOther Graduate of an
AMA approved / accredited Ultrasound Program PreferredAssociate's
Degree PreferredExperience2 Years ultrasound experience in a
hospital radiology department Required1 Year leadership experience
PreferredLicenses and CertificationsBCLS - Basic Cardiac Life
Support Upon Hire Required AndARRT - American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists Sonography and two additional modalities
Upon Hire RequiredOrARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and
Medical Sonographers in three modalities Upon Hire RequiredOther
RVT or VT(RVS) as one modality if performing vascular sonography
Upon Hire RequiredRVT Strongly PreferredARRT with 2 additional
Modalities Preferred
