This role leads an experienced engineering team responsible for implementing new or revised application systems in collaboration with the Issuer Services Technology team.The Issuer Services business has ambitious growth targets for the next 3-5 years, supported by significant investments in technology, including a fourfold increase in the technology organization. This role is vital to ensure project oversight and delivery of scalable, best-in-class solutions to support business growth and internal technology needs.Ideal candidates are passionate leaders with strong technical expertise, proven track records in leading engineering teams, managing projects, and maintaining financial and risk accountability. They possess deep technical and architectural skills, contribute to technical vision and best practices, and oversee the deployment and maintenance of applications related to Debt and Transaction Servicing within the Issuer Services Technology team.Additionally, this role involves hands-on full stack or backend development, building/supporting banking applications, and managing personnel activities. Candidates should demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, programming fundamentals, eagerness to learn, and high-quality architectural development. Openness to challenges and suggestions is essential.Overview of the Role:The Software Engineer Manager will be responsible for creating world-class digital engagement solutions for Citi. This includes system design, software architecture, technology delivery, and leading end-to-end development cycles. The role requires deep understanding of financial products and industry practices, technical leadership, and strong communication skills. The candidate should be comfortable with modern architectures, microservices, API gateways, and inter-service communication, and foster a culture of ownership and innovation within technical teams.Priorities include:

• Managing global technology teams, stakeholders, and partners to identify and deliver technology solutions aligned with business needs.
• Evaluating risks, ensuring application compliance, and maintaining security standards.
• Overseeing Citi's technology infrastructure, including software, hardware, and third-party products.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; MS preferred.
  • 10+ years in IT, with experience in product development and software engineering.
  • 5+ years managing large-scale mobile, web, and cloud-based products.
  • Experience in shaping business strategies for technical products/services.
  • Proven leadership in global, distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Strong skills in designing and implementing complex solutions across multiple technical domains.
  • Ability to lead transformational operational changes and automation initiatives.
  • Strategic thinking with tactical execution capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, and work independently.
