Locations: VA - McLean, United States of America, McLean, VirginiaSr. Director, Software Engineering - Cloud Engineering (Remote Eligible)Capital One is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering, who will drive to find new and innovative technological solutions that evolve Capital One's Cloud infrastructure, that exceed customer expectations while maintaining the high standards of quality and security. You'll grow and lead highly motivated engineering teams that architect, build, and operate the cloud infrastructure services portfolio, which includes Fleet Management, Software Defined Networking, and Account Topology functions.--The Cloud and Productivity Engineering (CPE) division is focused on the development of enterprise cloud tools and products across Capital One's cloud environment; management of network engineering functions across branches/cafes, contact centers, and offices; and development of software engineering tools, processes, and practices for the company's developer community.You will:

• Build and operate the infrastructure functions and services that form the technical foundation of Capital One's cloud environment
• Lead the innovation and introduction of new infrastructure capabilities and services that align with critical business objectives
• Collaborate with architecture, product, and technology partners to define and evolve the architecture design to build the software platforms of the future
• Define the scope, objectives, and key results that develop clear detailed plans for execution of technical initiatives that tightly align with business objectives
• Lead and participate in all phases of business planning, analysis, and reporting cadences
• Mentor, develop, and grow engineering management and individual contributors to be the next generation of leadership for the organization

  • Bachelor's Degree--
  • At least 9 years of software engineering experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in people management--Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree
    • 7+ years of experience driving alignment on architectural designs
    • 9+ years experience architecting and delivering software systems or platforms
    • 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably in AWS services
    • 5+ years of experience developing in Python, Java, or Go

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Location is New York City: $315,100 - $359,700 for Sr. Dir, Software EngineeringLocation is San Francisco, California: $333,900 - $381,000 for Sr. Dir, Software EngineeringRemote roles in other areas of New York & California, and across Colorado & Washington: $267,100 - $304,800 for Sr. Dir, Software EngineeringCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
