Job Summary
The Category Manager will manage the OS&E and FF&E categories for Aimbridge's portfolio of Hotels. The position is charged with understanding the capabilities, dynamics, and competitive factors in the associated supply and labor markets.
Leveraging an established Category Management approach, he or she will lead the development and execution of coherent, consistent strategies for spending, pricing and vendor selection that drive toward enhanced value and breakthrough savings.
The successful candidate must maintain a strong working relationship with Accounting, Operations, and Operations Procurement to ensure seamless integration between departments.
Nature and Scope
Reports to VP of Procurement. The role is a key member of the Procurement team and will be expected to contribute widely to the development of the process and capability of the entire Procurement function.
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement Business Management Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive procurement experience designing and implementing successful
  • Category/Sub-Category strategies. Three years of experience with specific area of oversight.
  • In-depth knowledge of Procurement and fundamentals.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with key business stakeholders and 3rd party vendors.
  • Capacity to develop innovative strategies and solutions creative problem solver.
  • Analytics ability to mine data to drive in-depth analysis.
  • Expertise in advanced functionality of the MS Office Suite Experience
  • Interface with all levels in the organization.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develops implements and maintains a 3 to 5-year strategic category plan in support of the business.
    • Formulates the annual procurement plan in concert with Operations Procurement Project Management and hotels during the annual budgeting process.
    • Provides subject matter expertise and detailed analysis from the procurement perspective and establishes best-in-class class procurement processes.
    • Partners with Hotel's GMs Procurement Project Management and Operations to determine cost drivers key suppliers in the market addressable cost components market pricing etc.
    • Leverages "should cost" modeling and total cost of ownership to inform business decisions.
    • Understands and challenges technical specifications commercial & operational practices and business processes with a focus on driving cost reduction initiatives.
    • Conducts negotiations (inclusive of RFx) manages supplier analysis risk mitigation and selection activities.
    • Identifies and develops new/current suppliers who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost quality and service needs of the business.
    • Collaborates with the business on the development and reporting of KPIs. Administer supplier assessments scorecards and other analytics to manage supplier performance. Communicates with the supply chain on all pertinent issues and expedites as required.
    • Monitors and manages supplier service performance and ensures sourcing decisions are consistent with established sourcing strategies with the ability to problem-solve effectively.
    • Responsible for commercial terms of contract lifecycle process.
    • Partners with the Legal team for contract review and execution.
    • Performs additional ad hoc projects and supports other categories as required.
