The Purchased Services and Capital Equipment Director will implement the CHC Supply Trust organizational strategy and effort to control hospital costs, increase group purchasing organization (GPO) contract participation and coverage, and generate revenue from the Purchased Services and Capital Equipment expense categories for Community Hospital Corporation member hospitals. Director will manage and grow purchase services and emphasis focused on a large Purchased Service expense categories that could represent 30% - 50% or more of the total supply chain cost structure of the hospital while maintaining a membership focused, virtual integrated delivery network (IDN) methodology, and driving high contract compliance to the HealthTrust GPO. The incumbent will also provide service vendor subject matter expertise, RFI/RFE/RFP leadership, coordination, and support for operational leaders at all entities. This role will also be responsible for growing Capital Equipment spend with member facilities through managing quote review services, vendor promotions/group buys, and other innovative ways of engaging members.This position will effectively collaborate with supply chain operations and GPO implementation, strategic account and vendor management, and the CHC Supply Trust team in support of our member hospitals.This position will work directly with the CEOs, COOs and CFOs of the membership to assure expectations of contracting for Purchased Services are exceeded at each hospital, and aligning with the Corporate Supply Chain Initiatives while leading and influencing teams consisting of directors, managers, business analysts to assure timely and effective performance, and drive compliance on the categories of purchased services to include but not limited to the following areas:

  • Clinical (ex. Blood Services, Dialysis, and Lithotripsy)
  • Financial (ex. Credit Card Processing, Resource Management, Staffing, and Revenue Cycle Management)
  • Environmental Services (Facility Cleaning, Waste Management, Laundry/Linen Processing)
  • Support Services (ex. Food Services, Transcription, Ambulance) Responsibilities
    • Develop and implement Purchased Services expense and contract management strategy, methodology, and approach which focuses on cost savings and revenue generating activities.
    • Provide leadership in the area of purchased services contracting and expense reduction to hospital supply chain and operational infrastructure.
    • Act as a liaison to HealthTrust Purchased Services Leadership to coordinate and escalate communication with vendor senior management to increase contract connection and adoption.
    • Develop and oversee procedures for monitoring of purchased services contracting, contract connection/adoption, and vendor management activities including overseeing relationship management to ensure vendor performance meets established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Create, manage, distribute and drive RFP/RFI as well as negotiations with vendors for purchased services for member hospitals.
    • Work with Analytics Operations team to develop and enhance effective and innovative support tools including dashboards that enhance CHC's competitive position and value proposition to targeted members.
    • Manage capital and purchased services quote review services for member hospitals.
    • Responsible for developing capital equipment strategic sourcing initiatives including, but not limited to, standardization, utilization, bulk buys, group buys, etc.BenefitsComprehensive health and welfare benefits package is offered as part of total compensation.

        • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field
        • A minimum of 6 years of supply chain experience. Experience in a healthcare setting in purchased services and/or capital equipment is preferred but other experiences are also acceptable (i.e. consumer supply chain, supply chain or procurement management consulting)
        • 3 years or more of experience and a proven track record in process improvement and cost reduction in purchased service categories
        • Previous proven record of delivering results in complex and multi-faceted operating environment
        • Strong record of accomplishment in process improvement methodology, change management, and operational improvement in complex, interconnected systems
        • Certification as a CMRP or CPSM is preferredThis position will be based in our Plano, Texas office, and requires travel of up 25% for new strategic business and regional meetings, business reviews and conferences.
