The Sr. Claims Vendor Account Manager is responsible for managing
vendor engagement, performance management, and serves as the
primary liaison for claims vendor services. The associate will
collaborate with claims business leaders and other stakeholders, to
identify vendor partners that meet our qualitative requirements
while supporting expense management. The ideal candidate must be a
strategic thinker with strong communication & presentation skills
and can effectively analyze metrics and identify trends to support
productive vendor partnerships.
* Responsible for administering pipeline for potential vendors,
negotiating rates, and leading the onboarding process
* Leads the stewardship and vendor renewal process to ensure vendor
adherence to our guidelines and expectations
* Collaborate with claims leadership to understand business needs
and create vendor project plan to address
* Implement reporting structure to analyze Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs), measure and evaluate vendor performance
* Execute internal/external customer training on vendor systems and
standard operating procedures
* Primary point of contact for claims vendor service needs
* Prepare and deliver vendor performance success to key partners,
senior leaders, and associates
* Manage and maintain vendor database
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience required
Claims designations and/or certifications preferred
* 5-10 years of claims account management and/or general commercial
insurance account management experience.
* Associate level claims or insurance experience.
* Experience managing vendor onboarding, stewardship, and
* Proven ability to resolve issues with multiple stakeholders and
maintain continuity of effective relationship management
* Comfortable leading meetings with various stakeholder levels and
excellent communication skills
* Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Please note: Markel has a phased approach for re-entry into our
buildings that is designed to balance the ongoing health, safety,

regulatory/governmental requirements and recommendations. Effective
10/1/21 we have implemented a hybrid return to work strategy that
allows for three days in the office every week.
