Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYManufacturing Managers plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Ensures manufacturing performance, volume and quality goals are met by utilizing efficient methods and maintaining appropriate staffing levels. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs, ensures that project/department milestones and, goals are meet and adheres to approved budgets. Manages staff behaviors by providing training and appropriate rewards, and when necessary, enforcing policy, procedures, and disciplinary actions. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe list below is intended to capture the most essential duties and responsibilities of the job.   • Ensures daily operations are in compliant with local, state, and federal guidelines; identify procedural deficiencies and reporting such deficiencies to appropriate parties

  • Develops and maintains manufacturing processes, including production logistics, work instructions, production scheduling, and various procedures.
  • Ensures production and process quality are aligned with overall objectives of organization, and scope of manufacturing goals.
  • Works closely with internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of materials, and supplies needed for the overall operation of manufacturing
  • Identifies ways to increase quality and quantity by implementing best practices across all levels of operation
  • Adheres to quality standards by performing regular quality checks of product and validating of manufacturing methods; by examining assembly, process, performance, product weights, and product packaging
  • Facilitates operational management of systems including but not limited to, NetSuite and/or other designated Manufacturing Systems
  • Assists in formulating strategic and operational objectives
  • Responsible for the supervision of staff including but not limited to, evaluating job performance, providing hiring recommendations, training, corrective, and disciplinary actions; scheduling and delegation of work duties; and time and attendance
  • Identifies, selects, implementing, and maintains manufacturing equipment to support production requirements
  • Performs regular audit of batch records to ensure data is recorded accurately
  • Facilitates and assist in third party certification
  • Maintains procurement, inventory, and testing of raw materials to control cost SCOPE
    • Supervises staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating job performance
    • Schedules and assigns work
    • Sets individual goals and monitors progress toward achievement
    • Takes corrective action in the form of performance improvement plans or disciplinary action
    • Recommends salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations
    • May have direct reports who are managers, supervisors, or individual contributors
    • Document, monitor and control expenditures in accordance with established budget. May contribute to departmental budget and forecasting process. Approves expenditures in line with signature authorization policy. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation
      • Associates degree in engineering, supply chain management, or related field preferred
      • In lieu of Associate degree 8 years of progressive experience as Manufacturing Manager leading operations team in manufacturing powder and/or liquid materials may be consideredExperience
        • Must have at least 5 years of management experience in manufacturing setting.
        • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role
        • Basic understanding of NetSuite or similar ERP systems
        • Intermediate experience in compounding by using pre-set formulas or doses based on industrial scale
        • Intermediate experience in Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities
          • Thorough knowledge of supply chain management, process improvement, quality control
          • Working knowledge of key performance indicators (KPI's) used to drive decision through data driven metrics
          • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements as well as safety and risk standards within a manufacturing environment
          • Thorough knowledge of cGMP systems for liquid and powder to secure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes.
          • General knowledge to packaging product to ensure product is safe during shipment
          • Thorough knowledge of statics and root cause analysis; process improvement, quality control
          • General knowledge of reviewing, approving, and management of time and attendance records
          • General knowledge of using software such as MSOffice suite, NetSuite or similar ERP system, CRM, or other job-related platforms.
          • Develops workable implementation plans; Communicates changes effectively; Builds commitment and overcomes resistance; Prepares and supports those affected by change; Monitors transition and evaluates results
          • Works within approved budget; Develops and implements cost saving measures; Contributes to profits and revenue; Conserves organizational resources.
          • Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; Takes responsibility for subordinates' activities; Makes self-available to staff; Provides regular performance feedback; Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth; Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external); Fosters quality focus in others; Improves processes, products, and services.; Continually works to improve supervisory skills.
          • Delegates work assignments; Matches the responsibility to the person; Gives authority to work independently; Sets expectations and monitors delegated activities; Provides recognition for results.

          • Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
            • Generally, the work environment is that of a manufacturing plant, specifically one that manufactures food products.
            • May be required to work weekends, nights, or holidays as a regular part of the job. The incumbent is:
              • Continuously required to stand
              • Occasionally required to walk or move from place to place
              • Continuously required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
              • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
              • Continuously required to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, or moving items
              • Continually required to talk or hear
              • Occasionally required to taste or smell
              • Continuously work near moving mechanical parts
              • Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals
              • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
              • Must
              • occasionally lift and /or move more than 20 pounds
              • frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
              • occasionally lift and /or move more than 50 pounds with assistance
              • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus
              • Travel is not required.
