HPE is seeking a Director, Human Resources for our Global Functions
who can be a strategic partner and team closely with business
leaders to elevate the organization to new heights with respect to
its people strategy, workforce planning, organizational design,
professional development, and talent management capabilities
globally. Additionally, this leader contributes to the operational
success, strategic alignment, and integration of activities with
other major organizational functions. Acting as a trusted advisor
and coach, this individual will engage closely with the Executive
Committee Leader and their senior leadership team for HPE's Office
of Legal and Administrative Affairs (OLAA) to align talent and
business strategy, while also enhancing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and lead planning, design, implementation, communication,
and delivery of OLAA HR initiatives in the areas of talent
acquisition, talent management, performance management, learning &
development, organizational change, inclusion and diversity, and
employee engagement
* Actively partner with and influence internal clients at the HPE
C-suite, SVP and VP level on a regular basis
* Collaboratively drive strategies and initiatives at the
regional/global/business group level by exercising some governance
oversight areas including key policy decisions, requisition
approval, resolution of high-impact disputes; Implement and monitor
required compliance and risk related programs and trainings
* Delivers Solutions through leadership in execution of HR
strategic projects within Function
* Lead an extended HR team by setting overall program initiatives,
allocating financial and human capital for programs and projects,
and ensuring timely and effective delivery/achievement of human
resources assignments/goals
* Assist with the HR due diligence associated with expansion and
M&A activity
* Maintain a current understanding of trends/"best practices" and
industry-related findings within the HR function that can impact
organizational performance (particularly as it relates to talent
and performance management, pay decisions, pay guidelines, and
broader internal/external regulations, policies, and
procedures)
Education and Experience Required:
* First-level university degree; advanced university degree in
business preferred.
* Typically 10+ of business partner experience with significant
strategic experience, including senior management influence.
* Experience within a global public organization that contains a
complex portfolio of products/services; Familiar with managing
teams/employee populations that are geographically dispersed in
multiple locations outside of North America
* Experience within environments requiring rebuilding and/or
transformation within the HR function, particularly with respect to
organizational design/assessment; demonstrated ability to
collaboratively drive change without "breaking glass" and leverage
strong business acumen/analytic capability to integrate HR and
business strategies
* Track record of establishing/contributing to creative solutions
in the areas of talent management, development and retention,
including employee value proposition enhancement, high potential
identification and succession planning - this individual will
strive to build a talent development strategy that will facilitate
growth, ensure attraction, mentorship and retention of top
individuals, and result in a high level of employee engagement
* Ability to work/communicate effectively with, persuade, and gain
"buy-in" from, a broad range of stakeholders (e.g. HPE
C-suite/business unit leaders, peers, direct reports, clients,
third party providers)
Knowledge and Skills:
* Superior ability to provide HR consultation to senior leaders,
managers and employees on HR issues regarding talent and
performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, employee
relations, HR policies, etc.
* Ability to work in a collaborative manner and develop strong
working relationships with clients, employees and HR
colleagues.
* Strong project management and prioritization skills.
* Strong leadership and staff development skills.
* Exceptional relationship management and partnership skills, with
ability to influence and drive change
* Ability to dive into details and be hands-on in delivering
results
* Highly organized with the ability to quickly switch gears and
prioritize accordingly
* Ability to build partnerships across various functions.
* Strong communication skills - written, oral and presentation.
* Ability to manage complex operational processes concurrently.
* Demonstrated experience leading matrixed teams and resources
* Ability to effectively manage a medium budget.
