We are a small, fast-paced internal Brand Creative Team that takes responsibility and ownership in creating high-caliber creative for a beloved brand. We are here to provide strategically sound, breakthrough creative solutions for many different audiences through a variety of platforms; from digital to print to in-theatre signage.

You are a patient mentor and an exceptional motivator with experience in guiding copy teams, providing feedback at each step in the creative process and inspiring the best possible work from each team member.

You are a creative storyteller with experience in writing compelling creative copy and overseeing other writers. You are comfortable with creating a large variety of content and eager to explore multiple options based on strategy.

You're a team player. -You're a great listener, open to feedback and able to take the creative vision and bring it to life. You have very little ego and don't fall in love with your own ideas, and instead have a strong desire to push them. You require very little oversight, and you rarely need someone to feed you the idea. You're hungry to learn and always improve.

Responsibilities

Owns Cinemark's brand voice and ensures that all copy aligns with the company's Brand Foundations, is consistent across various channels and strategically meets or exceeds the objectives of each request.
Leads the Brand Creative Copy Team and co-leads all creative work in collaboration with the Creative Director (over art) to develop on-brand, industry-leading advertising for company-wide initiatives and platforms, including but not limited to: Conceptual campaigns, emails, display ads, social posts, print collateral, video, trailer and radio scripts.
Presents and sells the Brand Creative Team's work directly to stakeholders, VPs, CMO, and other executives while clearly communicating the creative strategy around the 'why." Always prepared to answer strategic questions about the work.
Works collaboratively with the Creative Director, Project Management Director, marketing department peers and clients to produce sound solutions and bring ideas to life.
Reviews and approves all projects developed by Cinemark's Brand Creative Team, providing creative and strategic copy feedback as needed.
Mentors and directs copy team with an enthusiastic, motivating and inspiring approach. Provides ongoing feedback daily and completes official yearly, mid-year, and quarterly reviews of each team member.
Takes a hands-on role in writing and concepting higher-profile projects and company initiatives.
Thrives under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations to produce amazing work. Thinks and writes on the fly to come up with ideas/solutions immediately based on feedback.
Always prepared to voice opinions , articulate ideas in a clear and succinct manner, brainstorm new ideas and take creative criticism from peers and clients.
Detail-oriented with superb grammar, spelling, written and oral communication skills.
Stays current with legal requirements , industry trends, copy voice trends, legal requirements, and pop culture in general.

Qualifications

10+ years combined copywriting, copy management and brand voice experience. We're looking for the right fit, not the right number of years.
BS/BA in journalism, advertising, communications or related field. Not required, but preferred. Your experience and portfolio are what we're most interested in.
Experience leading an in-house or agency copy team.
Experience in presenting work to executives and clients.
Experience building presentations.
Strong portfolio that showcases a love of strong messaging across all platforms.
Experience working with Brand Guidelines, Creative Briefs and Copy Style/Voice Guides.
Experience reviewing and providing copy feedback.
Excellent knowledge of grammar, proofreading, editing, writing to a specific brand voice, adapting voice and tone to various of media channels, legal guidelines and overall best practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Word. Bonus points if you're also proficient in mac-based Creative Suite, especially Indesign.
You like being part of a team and are happy and willing to work in a collaborative environment.
You're obsessed with clever headlines, persuasive CTAs, and subject lines, copy that has a strong sense of storytelling and creating a thread that flows well from beginning to end.
Great time management and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
