Required Skills
--- Cloud Security background --- Programmed in the cloud --- Stood up 3rd party applications on the cloud --- Have done things like key management and search management --- Certifications with the cloud providers would be nice. Looking for the person who "builds the house" not the one who "lives in the house" Candidate needs to have built something in the cloud, an example would be built the IAM capabilities in the cloud, or built services on the cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate would have a Cloud SecOps background. If a group at USAA wants to roll out an application to the cloud, this team needs to be the first level of security making sure it is going to be secure and not have vulnerabilities. Making sure the application has the right Key, key management, and doing vulnerability scans. Cloud tooling to make sure the applications/data are compliant. Should be able to use scripting languages. Languages the group currently uses are; Java, Python, GO, Ruby. Do not need exp with all but need to be able to code. They use Gitlab to work their code into containers in the cloud. Candidate must have relevant experience building operational information protection control environment in AWS or GCP.
Candidate must have deep knowledge of security controls, features and operations for top Cloud providers with the main focus on AWS and GCP.

The candidate should be intellectually curious about technology and have a strong desire to find
and mitigate risks.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
--- Deep experience in building, configuring, operating and/or securing cloud
infrastructure and applications with cloud service provider native capabilities or 3rd
party tools.
--- Minimum of two years' experience in network, system, or software architecture design,
implementation, support, and evaluation of security-focused tools and services
--- Experience reviewing applications, infrastructure, and architectural designs
--- Experience in evaluating, recommending, and implementing new and emerging security
products and technologies as well as have the important skill to articulate technical
limitations and requirements to business and technology partners
--- Experience in working in an Agile environment
--- Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure application or security development
--- Experience working with and/or deploying a Container Orchestration tool
o GKE - Google Kubernetes Engineering
o Openshift
--- Experience developing software using languages such as Java, Python, Go or Ruby.
--- Experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform, Cloud
Formation, or Google Deployment Manager
--- Knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC.
--- Experience with software development and system engineering.
--- Familiarity within a CI/CD and automated testing development model
--- Familiarity with common software release strategies (blue-green, canary, etc.)
--- Experience debugging technical issues inside a complex stack involving cloud services,
containers, microservices, etc.
--- Experience implementing effective security strategies on cloud networks
--- Interest in Cloud Engineering and its impact on greater business practices.
--- Self-motivated individual with ability to leverage technical skills and correlate data to
streamline analysis quickly and effectively
DESIRED SKILLS:
--- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems,
Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or 5+ years' equivalent experience
--- Experience with endpoint, network, and email technology and data loss protection
strategies
--- Security related certifications
--- Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
--- Familiarity with Information Security frameworks and standards (i.e. CIS, NIST, MITRE,
ITIL)
--- Prior experience in leading large organizations with complex environments into a
Cloud-based Platform.
