Job Description:
Will be responsible for contributing to the sales of MathWorks
sophisticated engineering products that shape the way engineers
design and develop state-of-the-art medical devices through the use
of modeling and simulation; designing and developing sophisticated
software product models and simulations to demonstrate MathWorks
Technical Computing and Model-based Design product capabilities in
the medical devices industry; developing technical engineering
demonstrations of MathWorks modeling, simulation and analysis
software to support the companys technical sales activities;
building data analytics integration models and analytics systems to
perform customer experience analysis and analyze usage data to
support data-driven decisions; gathering customer software
requirements to inform development and customization of MathWorks
technical computing and model-based design tools used for Surgical
Robots, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Devices, and Medical Imaging
equipment; analyzing customers requirements, guiding product
evaluations, creating proof-of-concepts, and building successful
technical sales strategies; conducting product presentations for
individual customers at public seminars and via web; and developing
demonstration programs and application examples that illustrate how
the capabilities of MathWorks software fit to customers needs.
Requires domestic/international travel based on company/client need
(approximately 30-40 %). Education and Experience: Masters degree in Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer
Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education
equivalent) and two (2) years of experience as a Senior Application
Engineer (or related occupation) using MATLAB and Simulink in
development, testing or technical support of physical modeling,
controls algorithms, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation of
electrical systems. OR Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer
Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education
equivalent) and no experience. OR Bachelors degree in Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer
Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education
equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Senior
Application Engineer (or related occupation) using MATLAB and
Simulink in development, testing or technical support of physical
modeling, controls algorithms, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)
simulation of electrical systems. Special Requirements: Demonstrated expertise using MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++, PLECS,
SPICE, Speedgoat, and dSPACE to model and simulate electrical
systems and perform hardware testing. Demonstrated expertise building physical models and implementing
control systems including testing and validating control design,
for electrical and power electronic systems -- motor control
systems -- to support model-based design workflows; and developing
software models for model-in-the-loop (MIL), software-in-the-loop
(SIL), rapid control prototyping, code generation, and verification
and validation solutions. Demonstrated expertise designing, developing, and testing models
and algorithms for real time execution -- model-based design,
hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and controls prototyping
applications. Demonstrated expertise developing presentations and technical
reports on engineering and model-based design topics; and
presenting work at conferences, technical workshops, or internal
