Job Overview As Cypher Learning expands its global educational software footprint, we are hiring a senior accountant, reporting to the Controller, to assist with transitioning an outsourced accounting function to a newly formed internal finance team based in Plano, TX. Senior accountant candidate must possess experience managing the monthly financial close process utilizing thorough knowledge of AICPA & PCAOB guidelines, overseeing the treasury cash functions, and assisting with the payables and receivables processes. Responsibilities Participate in month-end close activities including prepaid expensing, fixed asset tracking/depreciation, accrual recording, etc. Reconcile balance sheet accounts on monthly basis with SOX compliance Manage treasury function including bank accounts activity, corporate credit cards, customer cash applications, and vendor payables Assist with annual external audit and tax related requests adhering to strict timelines Oversee processing of customer invoicing/collections and vendor payables Audit employee expense reporting to align with company policies Assist with calculation of sales team commissions Advise best practices and optimizations throughout accounting processes Assist with ad-hoc requests as needed Job Qualifications and Skill Sets Bachelor---s degree or higher in an accounting-related field CPA certification preferred Proficiency in ERP accounting software (NetSuite preferred) Minimum of five years experience in accounting or finance Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail Strong analytical skills to assist with process cadence & operational efficiencies Excellent time management and organizational skills CYPHER LEARNING is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and is proud to be an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
