Job Description:
NetScout Systems Inc. Position: Software Design Engineer IV (Plano, TX) Duties: Provide analysis and translation of client-derived
business requirements into functional and non-functional computer
system specifications. Perform analysis and development of data
processing for Big Data Analytics Platform. Analyze computer systems
capabilities, capacities, procedures, and limitations to meet specifications.
Perform architecture and design of new systems and research added
functionality to existing computer systems. Leverage metrics to analyze
software maturity of existing systems and assess impact of proposed
changes to the system. Review current data flows and recommend new data
flows for Big Data Analytics Platform. Prepare “proof of concept”
documents to evaluate new technological solutions. Recommend solutions
and modifications based on open source and commercially available
software. Perform feature definition in alignment with technology
roadmap. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a
related field and three (3) years of experience performing big data analysis,
data modeling, and systems architecture, design, and implementation;
or in the alternative, Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a
related field and five (5) years of experience as indicated above. Also requires demonstrated expertise (DE): creating, modifying,
testing, and debugging Groovy Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) transformations
for big data technologies; DE developing Domain-Specific Language for
the architecture and design of high-performance network monitoring
systems; DE performing data integration using Apache Kafka to develop
distributed messaging systems; and DE leveraging NoSQL databases
including ElasticSearch, Cassandra, and Vertica for the storage and
