Position: Software Design Engineer IV (Plano, TX)

Duties: Design complex, real-time, high-performance processing

diagnostic test applications for Mobile, VoIP, and legacy networks.

Evaluate new technologies and define their possible use in future

products. Collaborate with functional peers, and interface with internal

customers, such as product line management, software development,

firmware development, and system test teams. Leverage knowledge of call

detail records and network event technology to engineer data collection,

aggregation, data mining and data analysis solutions for backend

warehousing and frontend GUI functionality. Perform independent

technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting

several initiatives, including the design, implementation and

integration of the various components of solutions, including automated

testing and verification. Interface with different stakeholders,

including customers and end-users, product management, software

architects, and software developers to design implement software

solutions for Tier 1 mobile telecom operators.

Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer

Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems

or a related field and three (3) years of experience performing Java and

J2EE software development for Mobile, VoIP, and legacy networks

environments; or in the alternative, Bachelor’s degree (or foreign

equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,

Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field and five (5)

years of experience as indicated above.

Also requires demonstrated expertise (DE): performing Java performance

tuning and debugging, including multi-threaded performance

consideration, online debugging, heap dump analysis, and J2EE execution

environment debugging; DE developing Telecom analysis software,

leveraging knowledge of 3G and 4G LTE, and protocols, including GTP,

SIP, and Diameter; DE developing software engineering workflow and

support tools, including Git, Stash, and SVN, build automation tools,

including Jenkins and Bamboo, and code testing tools, including Junit,

Concordian, Sonar, and Coverity; and DE extracting and transforming big

data in Oracle and PL/SQL databases with technologies, including JSON,

Google Protocol Buffers, and Java NIO.
